Memorial Day, celebrated this year on May 25th, is a national holiday in which we pause and remember all of those who gave their lives while serving in the armed forces. It dates back to the years after the Civil War and has long-standing traditions found within our culture. Many visit cemeteries and memorials to pay honor to those who died in military service while others attend one of the thousands of parades held throughout our country honoring those who gave their lives.
This year marks our Second Annual Joint Memorial Day Prayer Service between Shepherd’s Grove and Christ Cathedral. We invite you to join us for a special Prayer Service in honor of our nation’s fallen heroes at the Christ Cathedral Arboretum at 11am. Afterward there will be an observance within the Cathedral Memorial Gardens Cemetery starting at noon.
This year’s prayer service will be co-led by Pastor Bobby Schuller and Father Christopher Smith. Shepherds Grove will also be represented by several of our other pastors.
Would you join me in praying for our nation’s heroes, the high cost that they paid, and for their families who still suffer the loss of their absence.
