Nearly 1,000 Kids and Families Celebrate the Season at Shepherd’s Grove Christmas Village

Shepherd's Grove Christmas Village during Season of Rejoice

Shepherd's Grove Christmas Village during Season of RejoiceThe smell of a crackling fire and sounds of beloved Christmas carols wafted through the air as Santa Claus — with the help of several volunteers — welcomed nearly 1,000 people from the Shepherd’s Grove congregation and community to the inaugural Shepherd’s Grove Christmas Village.

Held December 11 and 12, the Christmas Village offered a bevy of activities for little ones and their family and friends. One of the nights’ biggest hits, aside from the massive bounce house and inflatable slide, was the opportunity to throw snowballs and play in the snow. Also among the fun were a “reindeer” race, cookie decorating, nativity craft, screening of “A Shepherd’s Story” and the opportunity to meet Santa Claus!

The two-night event, hosted by Pastor Geoff Madison and the Shepherd’s Grove Family Ministry team, was an incredible experience thanks to more than 60 volunteers who dressed as Christmas trees, shoveled snow, welcomed guests, distributed hot cocoa and candy, and much more. We are so grateful for everyone who donated their time, money or resources to help bring the Season of Rejoice to our community!

The Shepherd’s Grove Christmas Village is part of Season of Rejoice, our six-week celebration of Christmas that culminates with three services on Christmas Eve. Click here for service times and details. We hope to see you there!
