Shoe Drive for Royal Family Kids!

Help put shoes on a needy child!  Two years ago SG responded will over 100 pairs for kids attending a local RFKC. Let’s do it again!

The primary purpose of Royal Family KIDS camps is to give foster children ages 6-12 a week of positive memories and royal treatment in a Christian camp environment. All of the kids have experienced trauma in their lives, along with abuse or neglect. So, when a kid attends camp they receive lots of attention and encouragement. For most of these children, it’s the best week of the year – a special time when they can focus on having fun and enjoy being a kid.

Many kids show up with nothing more than a trash bag holding some clothes and flip-flops or worn-out shoes. We want all the kids to have a decent pair of shoes to enjoy at camp and keep when camp is over. Help us put new shoes on kid’s feet!

Here’s How to Help!

Each Sunday starting June 13 – June 27, go to the Outreach table and select the shoe(s) that you want to provide. Go shop for them (online or local retail stores), then bring them back to the Outreach table on the Courtyard by Sunday, July 18.

The shoes collected will be given to kids attending camp July 28 – August 2 in San Diego County. SG helps support this particular camp in partnership with Rock Harbor and St. Andrew Presbyterian Churches.

Called to be a camp counselor? We especially need more adult counselors, especially men. There is still time to sign up if you’re interested. The first training session starts June TBD.

Questions? Stop by the Outreach table or contact Curtis Drever, Director of Missions and Outreach.
