Changing the World, One Song at a Time

By Sarah Grandpre, Director, Voices of Hope

What a year it has been! Voices of Hope is gearing up for a new adventure and a new season, and we can’t wait to share all our exciting news with you!

We finished our time America’s Got Talent Season 13 with our heads held high knowing that we gave it our very best. The children were kind and professional throughout the whole process and made us all proud as they continued to exceed expectations. Their positive attitude and strong work ethic did not go unnoticed! We were invited to perform on the premiere season of America’s Got Talent Champions with Britain’s winner, Tokyo Myers at the request of Simon Cowell himself! We had a wonderful reunion with our AGT friends and the entire experience was affirming and enjoyable.

In the spring, we were asked to sing with the incomparable Josh Groban and had a remarkable experience with his team and producers for a television special on NBC. We were then asked by producers at ABC to sing with Pentatonix at a huge children’s charity event at the Forum in Inglewood. Continuing in the spirit of outreach, we lent our music in support of fundraisers for charitable institutions such as CHOC, WE Day, Red Nose Day USA, Save a Child’s Heart, One OC Spirit of Volunteerism, Orange County Community Foundation, and Salvation Army.

We met Michael Ketterer during our time on AGT and through our friendship, we began to collaborate with his team at Influence Music, a Christian music label in Orange County. We recorded several backups and one lovely featured track for their latest album REBELS. The music project turned into a short film featuring many of our choir members and starring our own Mackenzie Nibbe as the lead child actor – she also sings so sweetly at the end of the album. This positive collaboration has led to multiple performances with Influence Music artists on Hour of Power and a new recording project to be released for the holiday season!

We have spent the last few weeks arranging and recording our Christmas single ‘Heaven Everywhere’ which is set for release on November 22nd. It will be available on all streaming platforms including iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, and YouTube. We can’t WAIT for you all to see what we’ve been working on!

I

Voices of Hope’s motto is “We hope to change the world, one song at a time.” Opportunities over this last year have launched us into forums we never would have dreamed of on our own. The spirit of joy and love in the faces of these children has moved many hearts through the power of television and social media, and the music they create together is remarkable. The children’s choir community has grown stronger through the challenges and the successes of the last season, and our purpose seems clearer than ever: the world desperately needs hope, and if we can brighten one heart or uplift one soul with our music, that is enough

We are so grateful for the outpouring of love and support from our Shepherd’s Grove family. God had blessed us exceedingly more than we could ever ask or imagine! We hope to make you all proud and to continue to bring you inspirational, uplifting music for many years to come.
